Le Caire, 1964. Alaa, 12 ans, et ses trois petits frères et sœurs entendent des cris provenant de la rue. Dehors, un homme est acclamé par la foule. Les enfants, sidérés, reconnaissent leur père Ibrahim. Personne ne s’attendait à ce qu’il sorte de prison ce jour-là. Si ses frères et soeurs semblent heureux de son retour, Alaa, lui, ne parvient pas à cacher une certaine défiance envers cet homme qui a disparu de leur vie du jour au lendemain.

Cairo, 1964. Alaa, a 12-year-old boy, and his three younger siblings hear shouting from the street. Outside, the crowd is cheering for a man. The children can barely believe their eyes: the man is their father, Ibrahim. Nobody expected him to come home from prison that day. If the younger siblings seem happy about his return, Alaa is unable to conceal his distrust towards the man who had so suddenly disappeared from their life.
